In line with the long-term aspirational goal for international aviation (LTAG) of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, agreed during the 2022 ICAO 41st session of Assembly, the Stocktaking will cover the:
- Aviation in-sector CO2 emission reduction measures and innovations, including technologies, operations, fuels and cleaner energies.
- A focus will be given on fuel-related approaches and solutions, showcasing the latest information from States, industry and other stakeholders in the lead-up to the third Conference on Aviation Alternative Fuels (CAAF/3) in November 2023.
A simultaneous exhibition will also be a part of this three-day event. The exhibition will showcase innovations in technologies, operations and fuels. It will include a SAF-LAB exhibition showcasing the various stages of the fuel-related supply chain, such as production, certification, distribution and accounting, and financing.
Pre-CAAF/3 policy & finance consultation sessions will follow the 2023 ICAO Stocktaking to initiate consultation among states, public and private financial institutions and other relevant stakeholders. More information on these sessions will be provided in due course.
